Filox system uses Filox media that oxidizes the iron,
sulfur, and manganese from your water changing it to a form
that can be trapped and filtered out. It is a very dense
media that then traps the oxidized iron and sulfur holding
it in the filter media until the control head automatically
backflushes to clean itself. A higher percentage of the
active ingredient allows it to remove higher levels of
contaminates than standard iron filters, and also increases
it's life expectancy.

slightly higher than the standard Birm and Pyrolox systems
